SAME WAVELENGTH

Is anyone on the same wavelength
And does everyone think alike?

None of us were made similar
and none of us look identical

We were all made unique
and we are all original

Yet we try to find someone
who has similar views

We seek a friend
with a similar attitude

And when they don’t have one
we expect them to adjust

We seek compatibility
and strive for companionability

And in the process
we destroy each other’s creativity

We lose our objective
and alter our goals

We transform into someone different
by amending our own wavelength

In the course of amity
we forget our originality

We lose ourselves, just to be
on the same wavelength.
