Why attached?

We were born attached
to our birth mother

And since then, we use
other mothers to attach to

Though our umbilical cord was cut
we’ve since created several cords

To plug us to outlets
and derive power to function

We use these avenues
as our means of purpose

Our invisible remote bond
controls our inner vagabond

To seek and explore
new resources of reserves

To gain renewed energy
and to refuel our empty

A source to drive
and to feel alive

To reach a notional terminus
and alight the passenger in us

To travel to attach
and detach to travel

To seek new mothers
and to live in a womb.
